About these Nottoway Plantation Wedding Photos...Nottoway Plantation is an unbelievable place for a wedding ceremony and reception. It looks like it straight out of Gone With the Wind! The living room is painted all white and it is a great spot for an indoor ceremony. You can also have your ceremony on the front lawn at the bottom of the two staircases.
Amy got dressed in the bridal cottage and her dress was perfect. She had a bouquet that included peonies and it was so pretty. After all of the girls were ready they headed up to the main house for the ceremony.
The main house at Nottoway is where Chuck got ready with the men. The first floor of the main house has a restaurant and the second (or main level) has the white living room, the dining room and the parlor. As the musicians played the guests found their seats and the wedding was ready to start.
Amy and Chuck decided to include all of the children in their families and two of the older children played a trumpet and flute for Amy and her dad to walk down the aisle.
After the ceremony guests headed out back to take their photos in the photo booth and the children waited in line to ride the ponies.
For the reception the guests walked over to Randolph's - the large ballroom on property at Nottoway. It has lots of chandeliers and a grand piano.
Amy's friend made the wedding cake - it was incredible! They also had a groom's cake that matched the Thornbury Castle in England. Amy and Chuck were heading to Thornbury Castle after their Baton Rouge wedding - they wanted to have a smaller 2nd wedding in England. For the 2nd wedding Amy wore a more modern gown and Chuck wore a kilt!
If you are looking to have a wedding in the Baton Rouge area, Nottoway Plantation is about a 45 minute drive south near White Castle, LA. After the wedding a group of Amy's friends were heading to New Orleans for the weekend and it was only about 2 hours away.
