About these St. Simon's Island wedding photos...
Becky and Pierce were married at the Wesley United Methodist Church in St. Simon's Island, GA. They had their reception just down the street at the Frederica Clubhouse, which is a part of Sea Island.
Becky and Pierce are from Columbus, GA and they met at Auburn University. They spent a lot of their free time just outside Columbus, GA on a family property that was a perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. We saw a bunch of turkeys during our early morning shoot. The daffodils were in bloom, too!
The wedding weekend festivities started with the wedding rehearsal at the Wesley United Methodist Church on St. Simon's Island. Then we all headed across the bridge to Pierce's aunt's cottage on Sea Island. Sea Island, GA is incredible - you feel like you are a million miles away from the world on your own perfect neighborhood island. The grounds are gorgeous! There is even a chapel right at the Cloister at Sea Island. I would love to see a wedding there! The grounds at the Cloister at Sea Island are also perfect for a wedding ceremony. At the rehearsal dinner Becky and Pierce sat at a table named "Sugar Hill" which was one of their favorite spots at the family property where we did engagement photos. Becky looked amazing in her Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique dress. And Pierce had a groom's cake that everyone loved - it was a large Natural Light can!
On Pierce and Becky's wedding day they had a brunch for guests over at the Retreat Clubhouse in St. Simon's Island. It is also a part of the very large Sea Island community. While guests had brunch at the Retreat Clubhouse, Becky and her girls were getting ready at the Frederica Guest House - a large house right next to the Frederica Clubhouse. The Frederica Guest House was a perfect place for the girls to spend the night before the wedding and sleep in before hair and makeup started. Becky and Pierce didn't see each other before the wedding ceremony but their attendants helped them exchange a few gifts to each other that included a Johnny Walker Blue Label Scotch Whiskey and a pearl necklace from Schomburg's jeweler in Columbus, GA.
The wedding at Wesley United Methodist Church was perfect - Becky and her dad walked through the large barn doors into the sanctuary for the ceremony. Becky had a gorgeous strapless Rivini gown. She borrowed a pair of jeweled heels that were just a little too big so she had a pair of backup python Christian Louboutin pumps.
The wedding reception was held at the Frederica Clubhouse out back. The sunset was better than anyone could have hoped for as the band led the wedding party onto the dance floor. The band was Atlanta Rhythm and Groove and they kept everyone on the dance floor all night! The flowers and decor were by The Vine in St. Simon's Island. The Vine Garden and Market was also the location for the bridesmaid's luncheon the day before the wedding.
At the end of the reception everyone was escorted out front at Frederica Clubhouse for a rose petal sendoff. Everyone was cheering as Becky and Pierce pulled away through fireworks in a Thunderbird. They spent their first night of their honeymoon at The Lodge at Sea Island. Then they headed to Scotland on Sunday for the rest of their honeymoon.
