About these Winter Park Civic Center Wedding Photos...

Schlaine and Jason were one of our favorite couples of 2009. When they came to meet with us they were stopped just a few houses away by a neighbor that noticed their Alaska license plates. Our neighbor also had them and Schlaine and Jason had just moved here from Alaska. They had both met in Anchorage but Schlaine was originally from Florida. We had recently been to Alaska for our 5 year anniversary but since we really want to go back we were asking all about everything we still need to see!

Schlaine and Jason were married at the Winter Park Civic Center in Winter Park, Florida. They had their ceremony on the back patio at the Winter Park Civic Center and their dog Kodi was a part of their ceremony. Schlaine and Jason even dressed Kodi up in a doggie tuxedo! I loved watching Kodi during the ceremony - Schlaine and Jason had their ceremony under the large Oak tree out back and Kodi didn't once run after the squirrels that were running in the trees above.

After the ceremony we took some group photos while everyone enjoyed the cocktail hour on the terrace. We set up a photo booth for Schlaine and Jason and we heard so much noise and laughter coming from the photo booth - we couldn't wait to see the photos!

Everyone headed inside for the wedding reception at the Winter Park Civic Center. Kodi actually stayed around for the whole reception and I loved how he watched Schlaine and Jason during their first dance. The centerpieces were large glass bottles and many of them were large beer bottles from Alaska. When Schlaine and Jason left at the end of the night, Schlaine's dad was holding Kodi on his leash and he kept barking as they pulled away as if to say "Congrats, but come back!" It was so cute!

The layout and the building amenities help make the Civic Center one of the most popular rental facilities in the area. The outdoor terrace is ideal for wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. The terace adjoins the Barnett Ballroom, which is ideal for a reception. The ballroom, overlooking the terrace and picturesque lakefront grounds, features a dramatic 35 foot cathedral ceiling.
